About The Artwork
Off the coast of Istanbul there are a chain of islands called the Prince Islands. The last island is named "Buyukada" which translates to "big island". I spent many summers here. When the ferry pulls up to the island, it is a blur of vibrant colors, deep blue water and no engines or cars are allowed on the island. Everyone gets around via bicycle, horse carriage or motorized scooters. As a child this island had a mysterious mystical spirit about it.
