About The Artwork

Introducing cocktail “Pimms” inspired painting, a vibrant and original alcohol ink painting that takes its inspiration from the beloved cocktail of the same name. As part of the series “Alcoholic Inks: The Cocktails,” this artwork encapsulates the lively spirit of the iconic Pimms drink. Using a limited palette of red, orange, yellow, and green, with shimmering gold metallic accents, I’ve recreated the vibrant hues and effervescent energy of a Pimms cocktail. The composition reflects the refreshing and lively essence of this delightful libation. This cocktail Pimms inspired painting isn’t just a visual treat; it’s a multi-sensory experience. Alongside the artwork, you’ll find a cocktail recipe card that allows you to recreate the Pimms cocktail yourself. It’s a unique fusion of art and mixology, offering both visual and gustatory delight. While “Pimms” is designed to be part of the “Alcoholic Inks: The Cocktails” series, it can also stand alone as an abstract piece, making it a versatile addition to your art collection. To protect the vivid colours and metallic accents in “Pimms,” I’ve meticulously applied Golden Archival Aerosol MSA Varnish with UVLS, ensuring the longevity of this unique piece. As with all my alcohol ink original paintings, “Pimms” is a one-off creation, never to be reproduced in print or greeting cards. It is entirely unique and designed to maintain its integrity and exclusivity. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a cocktail aficionado, or both, “Pimms” offers a delightful fusion of artistic expression and the joy of mixology. In conclusion, “Pimms” is more than a cocktail-inspired painting; it’s a visual and sensory celebration of the beloved drink. Once it’s in your possession, it belongs exclusively to you. Yasmin French is a contemporary British-Iranian artist specialising in acrylic paintings of animals, landscapes, and scenes inspired by travel. Using acrylic paint, I explore colour and humour to create beautiful works of art. I am based in Hampshire, UK, but take inspiration from travels across the world, taking photographs along the way. I have been painting and exhibiting locally since the age of 13. My subjects vary from figurative scenes, portraits, and animals and I typically use acrylics or mixed media. I have learnt many techniques from my mother, Soraya French. I am largely self taught, without a formal art education background. I prefer to learn from professional artists, attending workshops wherever I can. My professional background is in photography, and I consider myself lucky to keep painting as a creative pursuit. It allows me greater freedom to experience and try new techniques. A lot of the paintings I create are intended to bring warmth, light and humour to the viewer; capturing expressions of animals in various poses. I can’t tell you a favourite animal – there are too many beautiful species to choose from. I also enjoy capturing scenes that evoke a curiosity or whimsy, such as my Moroccan men, standing huddled in a group, whispering and making deals amongst themselves. I couldn’t really tell you why I paint – I’ve been drawing and painting since I could pick up pencils, and I just couldn’t imagine a world without art. It’s unfathomable! If I’m staring at something a little too long, it’s probably because I’m imagining how to draw it or capture the light that hits it. My favourite material includes: Golden, Liquitex, Cryla, Derwent, Windsor & Newton, and FW Inks.
