About The Artwork

Employing the technique of Dualism, "The Condemned" depicts the memory of a man who met his fate in the electric chair. The work features a dark brown background with light seeping in from the top, evoking a sense of inevitability and desperation. The luminous translucent orange figure brings to mind the essence of the soul that met his fate, imbuing the room with his presence. Crafting the impression of transparency was no simple feat, necessitating a meticulous process where opaque colors were used to create the "illusion" of a see-through silhouette against the dark backdrop. The final work showcases the style of Dualism where "form" is conveyed by the gloomy room, and "color" is embodied by vivid orange figure. Dualism is a painting technique that differs from conventional methods where "color" and "form" work together to depict the same object. Instead, in this approach, "color" and "form" are each allowed to convey a different entity. The "form" primarily embodies the shades of gray of the background, while the "color" constitutes the translucent bright hue contrasting it, creating a visual effect that can be perceived as two paintings in one.

Shipping & Returns

As a kid I had a keen drawing skill. My father quickly took notice and pushed me to paint. Back in the days, we used to spend evenings painting together; my father, my mother, my sister, and me. I remember being very happy those days. Later on, I started experimenting with water colors, used as oils. I would use impressionistic style, with visible brush strokes and richness of colors. Later on, I captured interest in my work, and so my three first iconic works were sold: A commissioned art from a travel agency of a boy with a city seeing behind, a full body portrait of a businessman, and a wedding picture of a couple just wedded.
