"The Lares and Di Penates" by Alexander Levich is a compelling collection that showcases his innovative meta-realistic style, blending the boundaries between the abstract and the tangible. This artwork consists of six individual canvases, each one a portal into an ethereal realm populated by enigmatic figures and surrealistic objects, drawing heavily from Levich's imaginative prowess. The historical name of the piece refers to ancient Roman household gods tasked with the protection of home and hearth, adding a layer of cultural richness that invites viewers to explore the concepts of safeguarding and spirituality through a modern abstract lens. These themes are beautifully encapsulated within a custom-designed frame, meticulously crafted by Levich to unify and enhance the visual narrative of the canvases. This frame not only serves as a physical boundary but also as a symbolic gateway, echoing the protective qualities of the Lares and Penates, making each viewing a unique interpretative experience.

What is the most important thing in life? It's not the external surroundings but our inner world. Painting serves as the key that unlocks this realm. By following this path, one learns not just to look, but to truly SEE. Through my art, I delve into profound content. Painting becomes a medium of communication, a canvas for thoughts. The questions are always deeper than the answers, and the answers are discoveries we make within ourselves. My paintings serve as guides, leading you along the pathways of your own thoughts. I aim to offer you the joy of connecting with your inner world, the luxury of harmony and solitude in communication with yourself. I was born in 1963 in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in 1987, I graduated from the painting faculty of the Kyiv Art Academy, under the guidance of Professor A.M. Lopukhov. Since 1990, I have been a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. As a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, my artistic journey can be divided into two main periods. The first period, which spanned over 20 years after my graduation, can be described as "Metarealism." The second period, which I refer to as my "return to realism," began around 2010, you may explore my artworks from both periods showcased here. If you would like to delve deeper into my portfolio, view additional paintings beyond those displayed on this website, or if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly via email at . You are also warmly welcome to visit my studio in Kyiv. Thank you sincerely for your interest.
