Painting: semiprecious stones on wood fiber board
The picture was "painted" in 2020 in collaboration with Shvetsova Marina Viktorovna, who kindly shared her experience with semiprecious stones. It was inspired by the winter landscapes of the lost spring (source) Vikurdan at the foot of the Ural Mountains. The scree technique was used, which allows one to go beyond the plane of the picture, create a three-dimensional texture, “cut through” a window into the world of fine art and connect two worlds. The painting used calcite (snow), green jasper (spruce), boil (Christmas trees), quartz, pyrite, phlogopite, rhodochrome, biotite.

I was born in 1986 in Izhevsk, Russia. I studied aircraft engineering at Kalashnikov technical university, did science and obtained a PhD. Since 2007 I have been working at the factory - first in Izhevsk and now in Perm. I also do research activities on polymer composite items. Science and art have many things in common. Science brought me to art and now its patterns and categories coexist in me with visual and intuitive understanding of the world. Inspiration and ideas usually come to me during routine activities. “What appears first - an idea or inspiration?” it’s difficult to answer but I could say that the more you work out your idea the more inspiration comes and vice versa. It’s a cycle. To understand priorities I go to the workshop. I learned drawing basics on my own, guided by a strict father of my wife, who graduated from the art university and kindly shared his knowledge with me. This way I got to know oil and watercolour techniques which I find as interesting as drawing. In 2008, my hobby became something more than just messing up paper. Thanks to art I started my searches, the search for beauty in particular. I also started to form my artistic taste. The beginning of 2010 is marked by my first paintings. Oil, canvas, impasto, wet-on-wet - most of my works are now in private collections. In 2018 I changed my postmodern vision for naturalism and modern art. It was a starting point for release of my works. Currently I live with my wife and 2 daughters who pursue my interests but due to the expressiveness and transcendence of the works they don’t contribute and keep out of it.
