The Maiden in a Sidequest Painting

Please note: I used poster colors to paint this artwork, unfortunately, I cannot find that category in this website. This artwork is about some of the things (and the cat) that helped me cope with the pandemic especially during the first couple of weeks under ECQ. I haven’t shared it here before but I grew up playing video games alongside my older sister. Our parents thought video games could keep us occupied while they focus on work. We used to own a small arcade shop at the front of our house where some of our customers would befriend me or my ate so they could ask us for free 100 lives in their Contra run. Years later our Famicom was replaced by Sega Mega Drive 2, then by PlayStation 1, 2, 3 and currently 4 Pro. I never outgrew playing video games because it’s one of those things that comfort me. Here I painted some elements from the games that I completed during ECQ namely Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Resident Evil (2 and 3 Remake) and Devil May Cry 5. I had to stop doing artworks that time because I was feeling hopeless and depressed. Later last year, I also learned how to crochet and make amigurumis! Actually, I’ve been busy working on doll commissions at Pixie & Pamela since January! And last but not the least, my late cat Porthos who’s now in heaven. Having him around kept the bad vibes at bay because his presence was very calming and his aura used to radiate positivity and love. I really miss him a lot. At first I thought this artwork’s theme was going to be hard for me to follow since I mostly make art that are sad and dark, but everything just flowed naturally! It was fun!
