ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This 3D mixed media painting on panel is from my series "Strategies for Present Day Life", which explores ways to navigate this constantly changing world. An old clock face is mounted on a textured abstract background of flesh tones. The time piece is partially hidden by layers of thin linen fabric, which suggests how memories, both joyful and sorrowful, are softened by the passage of time. The edges of the cradled wood panel are painted with the same tones as the abstract oil painting on the surface. Framing is not needed for this artwork.
