Part of the series Alchemy to Chemistry. the starting point of this collection is the development of synthetic pigments in the industrial revolution. I find the way in which this period echoes with the present, it is intriguing how technological developments impact our ways of seeing and give rise to questions about veracity and time and our relationship to the earth on which we live. this painting is made with hand made oils using alizarin, French ultramarine and Mars yellow. these colours are bright and uniform.
