The Swan Valley Painting

The technique of realization is a mixed one: oil-based colors and graphic pencil on prepared professional canvas. The painting is offered framed, with hangers on the back. In order to keep the oil colors vivid, to protect and seal the surface of the painting, a semi-gloss varnish spray specially for oil colors was applied. The painting shows the gradual, sequential movement of a ballerina. This delicate, soft and graceful swaying is rendered as a fictitious curve that increases in perspective and chromatically from left to right. Thus the waltz starts from the smallest and chromatically "coldest" ballerina and reaches up to the largest and "fiery" ballerina. This compositional balance is weighted and maintained by the two neutral ballerinas, centrally positioned, anatomically studied in graphic technique. The background has also been treated gradually but from the point of view of the flat surface, with subtle pictorial transitions.
