The Three Wrens of Appledore Painting

Whilst walking my dog in Appledore woods I happened across a small family of wrens, nestled in an apple tree high in the hills. I sat and watched the fledgling wrens dart from branch to branch, struggling in flight and to catch their own food. Along came one parent and with a sudden flush of movement they clambered on top of each other, trying to gain attention by squawking and chirping with mouths opened wide. Inspired by this I created this piece of work capturing both the beautiful location and the charm of the family of wrens. I created this piece using a number of technique including fabric painting, embroidery, quilting, applique and three dimensional textile techniques. All my work is framed, signed and mounted where possible. Due to the three dimensional nature of my work, most are displayed in box frames. This allow the piece to be viewed at different angles making the most of the detailing and gives a professional finish. Each frame is custom made by framing professionals in the UK, giving the best possible finish for the individual piece of artwork. Pieces are framed with a 2mm Crystal Clear ' XT ' Plexiglass, which is the modern, clean & safe acrylic alternative to traditional glass glazing. It is crystal clear, shatterproof and conforms to the latest BSI safety standards. Each piece of framed artwork comes with a hanging kit.
