Jovan Karlo Villalba (b. 1977. Quito, Ecuador) was raised in Miami, Florida. He is an alumnus of New World School of the Arts in Miami and the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City. During the first decade of Villalba's career he worked out of his art studio in Chelsea, New York City. He began exhibiting his work at local galleries and soon after was invited to participate in exhibitions at galleries, art institutions, and fairs throughout the United States. His work has been featured in solo shows in Los Angeles, Miami and New York City, as well as at biennial exhibitions at the Queens Museum of Art and the Hollywood Art and Culture Center. Villalba's work will be included in "Audacious: contemporary artists speak out" exhibition at the Denver Art Museum in February. Villalba presently lives and works in Miami, FL.
