About The Artwork

THE WORLD WENT BANANAS! 2022 Dangerous Monkey series ABOUT THE DANGEROUS MONKEY: Fallen from an imaginary paradise, the Dangerous Monkey tries at every moment to artificially recreate it through his technological and communicative ingenuity - symbolically represented by the Telephone of the 50s. Internet and virtual realities can even take him closer to this idealized Eden, but they can't make the Dangerous Monkey escape his most primitive instincts, as well as existential issues that have plagued him since the beginning. A constant presence in the works - and far beyond its obvious correlation with monkeys - the Banana is willing to represent the chaos that surrounds him, despite his effort to control and order as much as possible each and every scenario, the latter being represented by the perfection of spots and spheres. Although throughout its history the Dangerous Monkey has also given life to the most beautiful wonders, his self-centered policies put him on the brink of a catastrophe that threatens not only other animals, but also his very own existence. It is for these and other reasons that the Banana will be there to remind the Dangerous Monkey of his irremediably estranged nature from his supposed Creator. Although life itself - represented by the ribbons - is probably the most extraordinary and priceless part of his journey, the Dangerous Monkey abuses his luck and the limits of his own morality, also becoming his greatest adversary and making the surreal gets closer and closer to its own reality.
