About The Artwork

An abstract expressive contemporary watercolor about climate change and the weather changing constantly at the moment. We have more storms, we have longer periods of draught and of rains already and experience the first consequences of climate change NOW. The ice is melting, the world will be changing completely and we have no idea what is waiting there for us to come. Also, we are undergoing a political climate change - "storms" waiting for us here, too, and it becomes more and more difficult to protect democracy in this more and more difficult world. We are really facing the "Precipice" and should use all our energy to solve the problems together before it is too late! This painting is my entry to the Octopus Energy Climate Change Prize! 40x40 cm whole sheet (unframed), comes with 50x50 cm signed and titled mat, ready to be put in a 50x50 cm frame. Of course you can mat and frame it much bigger! Signed on the back. Certificate of Authenticity. W&N Watercolor on professional 300 g Arches watercolor paper. (c) Gesa Reuter 2019, all rights reserved. ATTENTION: The framing options shown just give an idea what it can look like, but there are many more options, just ask your local framer or contact me if you need any advice on this! COLORS: Please be aware that monitors may show colors slightly different from reality, especially blues mixed with greens. It is almost impossible to avoid that! SHIPPING: Please note, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. I have no control over these charges and I cannot predict their amount.

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
