There’s a balance between realism and painterly abstraction using impastoed oil paint –in the flowers and the background- to add a sense of physicality and spontaneity to the work.
There is a serene atmosphere in the composition, accompanied of energy and a subtle cheerfulness through the defined use of colors.
- This portraits are a certain moment in time. Someone’s story, someone’s life that was kept halt with the brush, reflecting not just a face but what is behind it, something we cannot see, our thoughts.
Exalting the importance of thoughts, as they built our reality.
Every time I see this paintings, they remind me that happiness is not what we see, but how we see it. And that, is determined by our thoughts, our way of thinking.
Being able to change or modify them is a complex yet wonderful capability human beings have, to live a better life.
