About The Artwork
The inspiration for this painting comes from nature and its many different forms and colours. This oil painting is an abstract landscape where the interaction between activity and calmness creates a balance and reminds of the different forces in nature. With the dark blue but smooth background and the contrasting white and dark pink I have wanted to achieve this balance. This painting reminds me of the Ocean and because of the darkness of the blue it's like a thunder is coming over the sea. Therefore, the title. But of course, everybody sees my abstract work different and that makes my painting complete! I want the viewer to be happy looking at this work.

Sabine Kay is an abstract artist, born 1964 in Hamburg, Germany, and now living in Luxembourg. She has always had a passion for art, but rediscovered this only some years ago. And now, with the kids getting older, she is moving into a new phase of her life: an art-life. In the beginning she worked realistic, but over the years she learned that in abstract art she could better express herself. While painting she is building the oil colours layer upon layer with a colour palette ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating.
