ABOUT THE ARTWORK
As a nearly life long resident of Long Island, NY, with a love of water, beach scenes like this are common, but I wanted to express it in a different way, while trying to remain true to its form. This is painted on a Birch Panel allowing the grain to show through which adds another layer of interest. It is in a hand crafted frame (crafted by the artist) with a rough textured sand finish, giving it a true beach experience.

It is a remnant of the last ice age, with a rocky/ hilly north shore and a sandy flat south shore (Atlantic Ocean). As do the vast majority of visual artists, he draws inspiration from his surroundings. Whether it is something as simple as everyday use in the kitchen, a run on a nearby trail, a walk on a nearby ocean beach, or out on the water, soloing in his sea kayak.
