Mark Woodcox is a professional artist that lives in Connecticut. His artwork has been featured in juried shows, galleries, and museums. My artwork has always reflected my deep connection to nature and to historical and timeless symbols. My fascination with history and ancient civilizations, and master artists began at a very early age. With my work, I set out to capture and immortalize a beautiful moment or my connection to a significant muse that might endure the test of time for future generations to behold. Master artists like Thomas Cole. John Fredrick Kensett and others from the Hudson River School of Art have been some of my greatest influences, while my own Expressive Realism style has evolved thanks to countless creators and work that spans all periods of art from the ancient world forward. My artistic method is to find the light, color, and translucency of my subject matter to create drama and depth that evoke a feelings of connection, curiosity, and awe. I hope to elicit the desire to reach out and touch-or to sit with the beauty, strength, and power of my documentation of visual history.
