Triplets Painting

Painting is a quest to learn and understand more about life and humanity through form. I paint what gives me a revelatory insight or a new prospective on life. Born and raised in Italy, I find that a painting of a human skull in the house is a perfect reminder to live life at its fullest. The manipulation of edges, challenge the integrity of the form while giving it more power and energy. Background and form are in an evolving battle to exist on the surface, while color is kept to the bare essentials. These three paintings were made in September 2016 are oil on archival quality titanium gesso primed cotton canvas stretched on wood frame, perfect for frameless display. The lateral paintings are 6x6 while the middle one measures 7x5 inches. I paint with mixing knives, fingers and sometimes a brush ;)
