ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I am in nature every day. I like to look at the light shining through the branches. I like that very much but it also reminds me of the feeling of transcending during meditation. The painting is made with self-made egg tempera on wood. Since 2006 I make my own paint, just like the old masters used to do . I like the simplicity of the lines. And I also love black and white.

I studied at an art academy in the Netherlands (Groningen-Minerva). I graduated in 1991. Since then I have been working full time as a visual artist. I have exhibited a lot. Since 2008 I spend a lot of time in nature. In 2016, I had a project 366 sunrises. Every morning I went outside with sunrise and made walks and photographed what fascinated me. In october 2017 I started 366 sunrises with a second project. During the sunrise walks, I photograph, make drawings and create objects in nature. Another fixed thing in my life is my meditation program, twice a day I meditate. I do this since 1988.
