Anna Maria Fraternali lives and works in Rome. After completing her studies, she begins working in a company that produced textile design samples for the textile and fashion industries. In the meantime, she begins to explore new forms of creativity and aesthetic expression that will allow her to deepen and define her artistic career. In the search for a peculiar aesthetic language, Anna Maria Fraternali experiments with various forms of expression. In her career, she has produced works of various genres, ranging from designs for fabrics, wood sculptures, exercises with acrylics, collages, red ocher chalks drawings on paper, decorative oil paint on mirror, views of Rome to commissioned oil portraits, decorative panels, oil paint copies of works by Raffaello, Veronesi, Renoir. And finally arrives at oil painting on canvas which will become her main expressive channel. In a silent dialogue between psyche and life, Anna Maria Fraternali aspires to embody in her painting a fundamental moment in our search for identity, the moment of fear, of the imprisonment of the absurd, but also the hope and work of liberation, of leaving the forest of the imaginary. For the last several years, her main focus and passion has been abstract painting. “I always start from an image that must strike me for the colors or for the composition. Then I listen to my emotions wriggling away from reality to express the dynamism of the starting image by composing the canvas from the pictorial experience in the chromatic research.”
