Two koi fish swimming somewhere in clear waters. Painted with Japanese ink on rice paper. Koi fish are very popular and highly symbolic in Japanese art, with a number of positive meanings attached to their name - luck, prosperity, good fortune and perseverance in life. To this day, koi fish are admired for their grace and unusual colours. Their swim around and live their lives, oblivious to our human worries. The painting is signed, sealed, wet-mounted on backing rice paper and ready to be framed or mounted on a silk scroll. Please use acid-free adhesives when framing. It is manually cut, please leave a few mm error margin for dimensions. Colours may differ due to differences in devices.

Malta
Canadian artist based in Malta. I studied oil painting in the South Studio Atelier in Malta. The Atelier follows the great traditions of the Florence Academy of Art, so do I. The transience of life pushes me to create, to capture the moments of beauty I see all around. I also studied Asian art, in China, Canada, and in Japan. Fragile rice paper gives a different feeling. It's the best canvas to express the complex simplicity of ink painting. I am using centuries-old Japanese recipe to mount my own artwork.
