Undines (waves) — in Western mythology — women's spirits of water, the inhabitants of streams, rivers and lakes. The ondines represent the deep forces of nature, which are not comprehensible to the human eye.
In Greek mythology, they correspond to the nymphs, in a Slavic mermaid. Undine, the owner of ancient wisdom, the secrets of life and death, the physician and the prophetess; author's repetition of the picture
Water elementals are named Undine. They settle where there is a natural water source. By their nature, they are shy creatures, rarely seeking to be close to someone. They are spoken of as the creators of masks, cobwebs of riddles and lies.

As for appearance, there are two points of view on this issue. The first sees the elemental as a giant wave, able to destroy the largest ships, shimmering and vague figure, and the second borrows the features of popular ideas about mermaids and nymphs, and also looks back at the Greek myths about Naiads and sirens. In this myths Undines appear in the image of beautiful maidens with wonderful long hair, and sometimes fish tails.
