About:
This painting was created the week before the 2017 solar eclipse. The concept was inspired by the idea of being fully involved yet non-attached to the systems around me. The rings reflect the cyclical nature of being. The work explores the subconscious, impermanence, desire and acceptance.

Process:
I start the process out by acquiring vintage canvas and manipulating it through multiple renditions of industrial and hand washes. Afterwards, the custom patterns are hand screen printed onto the canvas. The canvas is then stretched onto a custom-made frame, and details are added thereafter.

My work is currently interpreted through paintings, material abstractions, textile re-imaginations, and installations. Experimentation plays a large role in my works—through a multitude of processes, the resulting body of work acts as a channel between the alchemical manipulations and the organic nature of the materials, both intentionally and indirectly. Adaption to the disciplines and forms in garment fabrication and silk screening have allowed me to develop a fully realized visual landscape. My work continues to expand through the process of procedural experimentation, dye manipulation, and industrial machinery implications.
