Vyacheslav Solodkin was born on the 8th of September, 1955 in the city of Vladimir, he studied at the Vladimir Polytechnic Institute, then at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. Vyacheslav Solodkin worked as a poster artist since 1985, he was engaged in the development of trademarks, intellectual games and packages as a product designer. Posters by Solodkin are deeply individual and clever. The highest level of his skill as a poster-artist was confirmed by the multiple victories in the All-Union and international exhibitions and poster competitions. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the concept of a Soviet poster also shaded away. So Vyacheslav Solodkin has been positioning himself as a painter since 1995. Vyacheslav Solodkin uses his ability of a poster-artist to crysallize the idea of a painting, put it into bright and succinct image. The deep, vivid inner world of the artist shows up in his paintings. Solodkin creates his own world of symbolic images different from the one in which ordinary people live. Pictorial art solution of Vyacheslav Solodkin are close to the poster style because of local poster background, conventionality of color, bright, almost grotesque images. All these appeals to the poster techniques have the only goal to increase semantic expressiveness. His paintings are often exhibited abroad, have their admirers in many countries.
