STATEMENT Time is a whole. The whole in which we are thrown without having any other choice than live with it, to relieve ourselves of its implacable impermanence. How to focus on this precious present that makes us feel so alive because when it is stated, it becomes past and already makes promise about a future. So leaving a trace becomes an urgency, a need, to mark time for a moment. My work has just found its essence and purpose. Truth of the moment. Create and share. Leave an immutable trace in this passing time. It is by sharing those moments that life and time become a gift. BIOGRAPHY “Isabelle Maynard paints with a choreographic gesture. She is playing between coloured grey nebulae surfaces and nervous lines of forces” said French journalist, H.Richard. Her paintings, some dark and intense shades of greys, others dreamy with airy whites give a wide source of meditation and feelings. Each work begins with a process that include at first to put a thin layer of plaster on the canvas which give her the sense and the touch of a blank page. When it’s done, she can start expressing herself sometimes subtle, delicate, or brutal, primal, every time driven by her own sincerity without any artifices. When the work is done, it is given to see. She enjoys spending time outside, both in crowded city area and wild nature. Those different interactions and contemplation about life emphasise her emotions and give her a large palette to express herself. Isabelle Maynard born and raised in France, graduated from the Fine Art School of Montpellier France after few years learning psychology in Bordeaux. She was inspired by famous artist like Pierre Soulages, Tapies abstract Spanish painter and many other ones. Leaving closer to Spain and having Spanish relatives she was inspired and immersed by those different cultures. But her dream was one day to discover United States and his huge landscapes and crowded cities and be a part of her abstracts expressionist masters as Cy Twombly, De Kooning, Joan Mitchell... The mix of different cultures is the cement of her work. So one day, the magic occurred. A fantastic opportunity was given to her by a friend and she finally realised her dream.
