Yuri Shevchuk, born in Kyiv, Ukraine (1961), is a renowned artist with a rich background in architecture and fine art. In 1992, he moved to Prague, where he quickly established connections with local galleries and organized several international exhibitions. Yuri’s contributions to art and the automotive industry have been recognized worldwide. His collaborations with the team behind the film Le Mans '66 and the Shelby American Collection in Boulder, Colorado, along with exhibitions at Salon Retromobile in Paris, Le Mans Classic, SPA Classic in Belgium, and Techno Classica Essen in Germany, underscore his prominent position in the world of automotive art. The artist’s passion for cars is evident in his work, often depicting race cars and their crews in historical contexts. A significant part of his portfolio is a series dedicated to the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. His works capture the thrilling essence of racing, emphasizing the sport’s drive to conquer space and time. Another major theme in Yuri’s work is jazz. He portrays legendary musicians with dynamic intensity, including Miles Davis, Eric Clapton, and John Coltrane, using both watercolor and oil techniques. His jazz collection features vibrant depictions of musicians deeply immersed in their craft. Yuri’s landscapes reflect his travels, capturing iconic views of cities like Paris, Prague, Barcelona, Venice, Seattle, and Baden-Baden. His unique style has earned him recognition in both the automotive and art communities. He has been featured in various international magazines and became a member of the Pastel Society of America in 2007.
