Venice should be seen at least once . I you get there, stay for a few days. Take your time. It's well worth it ... I live in Padova, just 30 min. by train and I get to see it often. I even have the excuse of being an artist and having to see it in order to work. What a lucky bastard I am.... Yes it's crowded and the pathways are narrow, but you'll get to love even that. Watch your pockets though ... It was home to people like Tizian and Casanova, and the only free city in times when liberty seemed like superstition to the rest of the world . You'll see it in the wealth of her culture . So let your wallet take the fall and go to Venice ! Don't postpone it ! You might get hit by a bus tomorrow and you'll go to heaven (or hell) without seeing La Serenissima !
