ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I’ve always been fascinated by the King Arthur stories. And after reading ‘The Mists of Avalon’ by Marion Zimmer Bradley I wanted to give this painting the feeling of a modern 'lady of the lake'. That doesn’t mean that this is an illustration of the book. The painting is an invitation to have your own 'vision quest'. To go inside and find your bliss. The lake and the trees are inspired by the beautifull forest of Oisterwijk (NL) where I live and where I love to go for a hike, seek silence and have my own ‘quests’.

In 2011 I had to admit that my message was incomplete. We are indeed equal to each other, but not the same. And that’s a good thing. Because it’s the difference in interests, talents, needs and desires that makes us valuable. That’s why my artwork started to change in 2012. The human figures are no longer that anonymous. They became unique. They dare to dream and to be in the moment.
