Circuito OFF - 57. Biennale d’Arte di Venezia - Giovanna Mancuso

Continuing the search for different forms of expression, the artist comes to the study of Zen and oriental Shodo calligraphy.
The oriental calligraphy, intimately linked to the painting, is a real Art and a practice of life that needs constant exercise and prevents blemishes. Here the sign is swelling, black lines, soft, sharp, energetic, becoming visual poetry, in an order of composition from which ratios of solids and voids emerge. One perceives a rhythm, a flow of gestures, a variability of force.
A free private alphabet of meaning that stands on the canvas and support a transitional musicality that becomes lyricism.
