Artist: When I was 19 living in New York one night I decided to trade out acrylic paints for the candle that was burning in front of me and that night I fell in love with encaustic painting. I’m a self taught Encaustic Artist with over 20 years of creating artwork that brings joy, peace, happiness and memories into people's lives. All of my artworks have sand and shells in them even if they can’t be seen. The ocean brings my soul true peace, it keeps life in perspective, reminds me I’m just a grain of sand in this big world. My intent/prayer for every piece of artwork that I create is the person who buys it will feel uplifted, happiness, strength and invoke a memory that brings them peace. I choose to sign the back of my artworks because I want my artwork to be about you, when you're looking at a piece of my artwork I want you to have the full experience of you. Materials Used: Encaustic Artwork is created by melting beeswax to a liquid, adding pigments and using it as a paint, When cools/hardens the artwork has so much texture and life. I use local Jacksonville beeswax and a mixture of other waxes to create my paintings. My ocean artworks all have sand and shells sourced directly from the beach stated in the description of the artwork.
