Prof. Dr. MUHAMMAD SHAFIQUE FAROOQI Pride of Performance Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafique Farooqi is a renowned Pakistani artist, calligrapher, and art educator. He is known for his innovative and dynamic approach to art, which blends traditional techniques with modern styles and themes. Muhammad Shafique Farooqi is currently working in Minhaj University Lahore as a Director in Islamic art and Craft department. He was born in 1942 in Sialkot, Pakistan. He had done his Master from Istanbul University in 1997. In his 67 years of his art career he has done more than 14,000 art pieces and 110 Solo shows in USA, England, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Germany, Sudan, France, Canada, Holland, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Pakistan. He has mastered the arts of Free hand Sketches Calligraphy, Landscape, Watercolor, Etching, Symbolic art, ceramic art, Symbiosis concept of art (Journey of Line) and Spiritual art (Whirling Dervishes), Mr. Shafique Farooqi was conferred with President (of Pakistan) Pride of Performance, in recognition of his meritorious contribution to the field of arts in 2021. 2022 -2025 • Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafique Farooqi was honored with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Spiritual Arts from the Royal American University in 2022. This recognition is a testament to his remarkable contributions and extensive career in the field of arts, spanning over six decades • In 2022, Shafique Farooqi continued his exploration of Islamic calligraphy with the publication of his seventh book, "Muhammadur Rasulullah." This work features 100 original calligraphic paintings, each reflecting his profound reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Farooqi's innovative technique, utilizing both brush and palette knife, brings a dynamic and textured quality to his calligraphy, capturing the spiritual essence of the subject. • In 2023 Shafique Farooqi's art and his book, "Glimpse of Invincible, the Tale from the Khamseh of Nizami"! His ability to blend Sufi philosophy with visual art is truly captivating. The recognition he received in Azerbaijan and the nomination for the Annual Award of Nizami Ganjavi in 2024 are well-deserved honors. Farooqi's work, especially with the 105 paintings in the "Journey of Line" series, must be a profound exploration of mysticism and art. • Currently, Mr. Shafique Farooqi is working on his 9th book, “The Vision of Self: Iqbal's Journey to Spiritual Awakening” which will include 75 paintings from his "Journey of Line" series.
