ABOUT THE ARTWORK
White oleander - beautiful, white, seemingly harmless flower that is a deadly poison we keep at home. Nothing reveals its true nature. It's loved and adored for its looks. Yes! I instantly think - who hasn't encountered a human oleander in his/her life? So why oleander? I wanted to create an amulet for the person who buys it, so that it will protect her/his home and life. This oleander, oleander on canvas, is not dangerous. Art has ripped him off his cruel nature. All that is left is a silent warning not to forget the story behind it. This painting has been published in Vogue UK in the summer 2022.

Usually my process involves destroying the artwork while being very frivolous with it, then I sew it back together. It always comes out more beautiful that way, multilayered, magnificent I dare say.
