Wild Garden Painting

Katie Lenegan is a painter who studied Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University. Light is a main theme and fascination for me in my work. Capturing traces of light found in the natural environment and depicting it with watercolour. My current work is based on the wild gardens near to where I live, the green watery pools of plant life and ever changing sky are explored through veils of paint and charcoal.I like to hover between the abstract and figurative to form a sense of a place and time. Marks are left to reveal what has gone before and display the indecision and lovely imperfections of the painting process.
