This artwork was inspired by some flowers in my garden that seemed to dance and play. They were bold, bright, and kept their colour for weeks. I love to use bright colours in my work and, in this work particularly, the colours represent the wild and playful joy that can be found in Heaven. I like working with these particular oils because they are water-soluble and so smooth and lovely to use. The colours blend so nicely together and they are bright enough to capture the inspiration behind this piece.

My name is Annaliis and I am a Brisbane-based fine artist. Most of my work is abstract figures or abstract expressionism but I also paint a lot of animals. I tend to use bold, bright colours on big canvases, and I also paint unique designs on furniture. My latest series, "A Euphoric Lens", explores what joy is and how it looks in the lives of various people. Some pieces are an expression of my own experience and understanding of joy, while there are other pieces that are an interpretation of how joy has been experienced by others. While looking at my work, I invite you to consider what joy looks like in your life and feel free to contact me to share your experience! I love hearing how people have overcome obstacles and I might just get some inspiration from it.
