ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Vulnerability intermingled with passion as well as a yearning for a partner/relationship that faded away. I knew I wanted to portray my experience through my fascination with Kinbaku/Shibari; the love that once enveloped me with warmth ended up binding me and turning into poison. Malgré ça, a huge part of me enjoyed all aspects of the relationship I was in, hence the iconography of rope bunnies and bondage. The initial inspiration for this artwork came from Monsieur Nobuyoshi Araki. Hopefully I’ll get to meet the legend someday soon.
