About The Artwork

Russian writer Nikolai Gogol lived for some time in Italy, where he worked on the creation of the second part of Dead Souls. I really love Italy and have been there many times, walking along the narrow, beautiful streets, I got the idea to create such an artwork. I thought about how Gogol walked along such streets thinking about his work, so I portrayed him with a book, pensive. With broad strokes and color, I conveyed the beauty of architecture in the shade. Award: 2009- Diplom of the Russian Academy of Art, International Association of Artists, the Artist's "For the contribution to the arts"
