ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I recently re-read Samuel Coleridge's poem "Kubla Kahn', in which he writes 'Where Alph, the sacred river ran, through caverns measureless to man, down to a sunless sea. ' So I thought I'd paint a cavern measureless to man, because then I would be able to take advantage of having to use a very dark pallet which would enhance the luminous blue of the sky.
