ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Conceptual artist Anastasia Yamshchikova was born in 1989. She was engaged in creativity since childhood - she always had a desire to just draw, at least what, at least where. In elementary school, she had already drawn posters and methodical materials for teachers. First she studied at an art school. One school was not enough, and Anastasia finished the second one. After that, young artist realized that she wanted to connect her future life with creativity, but professionally. And from 2008 to 2014, she studied at the Ural Academy of Architecture and Art. Years of study, various experiments with materials, techniques, directions and industries. During this time, she managed to work as a laboratory assistant in a textile workshop, learnt how to weave tapestries and paint fabrics in the techniques of cold and hot batik, studied printing, stamping, embroidery (cross, smooth, author's), knitting (knitting needles, hook). She worked as an interior and furniture designer in a design studio and freelance. Anastasia worked as a layout designer in a printing house (mastered graphic editors). She created her own collection of art costumes from the "Polyphonic silence" series based on the Russian winter. After graduation, she taught at the center of the Federal network of additional education "Unium" (design, academic drawing). She still conducts master classes and individual classes in painting. She worked with decorative plasters and made paintings in interiors. Over time, Anastasia defined a narrower focus for herself – painting. She is moving in that direction. Training, rich experience and search for yourself, of course, influenced the creativity of Anastasia and the choice of material and technique. The artist paints in oil and acrylic on canvas. She really likes these materials for a variety of effects and techniques that you can use in your work. She loves creative experiments, as evidenced by diplomas in the category "For the courage of artistic experiment", "For original technique". She is a participant and winner of various Russian and international competitions and exhibitions. Anastasia's works are in private collections in Estonia, the USA, Ukraine, and Russia. There are publications in the magazine and exhibition catalogues, interviews on radio Pilot and radio Klen, as an invited guest. Now she is actively invited as a sponsor to various city public events.
