ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Corona “Lockdown” has effected everyone. Our world as we know it has intrinsically changed. This artwork was created during “Lockdown” in South Africa. Having looked at several images of the virus and what it looks like under a microscope. It is hard to believe that something so beautiful can be so deadly. South Africa is suffering on so many levels at the moment, as is the rest of the world. Our president has asked us to hold down for another two weeks. This painting depicts figures being surrounded by the virus as the “sheriff” asks for more time. “Yima” is Zulu for “Stop”!
