About The Artwork
A series of five paintings using a old book of sonnets by EB Browning as an underlying subject matter to connect the pieces together. Originally this work was only going to compromise of two paintings, the front cover and the moth. The work progressed into five works in total. Each one has its own title which in itself is a small poem. After some introspection on this piece it occurred that it was inspired by an emotional event in my life from a few years early. The paintings carry a sense of nostalgia and melancholy, with each object and verse carrying metaphors and symbolism throughout the work.
