ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The fourth of a small series of paintings that uses an old, very worn book of sonnets. The book was lent to me by an artist friend and mentor after I spotted it in her flat and mentioned how much I'd love to use it in a painting. This painting moves on from the small objects that I had been previously painting. I wanted to create a relationship between the objects and also between each painting within the series. The titles of which when written out become a small poem in themselves and each painting follows in sequence as if you were turning each page of the book. Each painting has been painted on high grade birch plywood which I cut and prepare myself. They are finished off with hand finished oak frames. These will be on sale at The Other Art Fair Bristol 2018.
