Imane Kamal Idrissi is a Morrocan painter and film maker based in Mozambique whose mixed media works explore recurring themes such as the female body,money, wild life or even portrait. Thanks to her father, a painter himself, Idrissi was introduced to the world of expression and freedom of thought at an early age. She continually surprises her audience by experimenting with different materials and techniques, employing everything from oil paints to fabric and glitter, her most famous one, is interposed layers of plexiglass, that she used mostly to do portrait, one of them is The portrait of Mohammad 6 the king of morocco, witch took it's place at the royal palace of his majesty in Rabat. Imane was invited by the Mozambican minister of Culture Mr Dunduro in spit of the difficult relation between Morocco and Mozambique after attending one of her exhibition, he appreciate the creativity of the young artist enough, specially the portrait of Samora Machel with the new technic used by artist, he invited the artist and suggested to start cultural cooperation between both countries. The artist was the chosen in 2019 to make mural on Ghassan Ahmad Training center in Maputo, in a memory of it's creator Mr Ghassan Ali Ahmaf, using the same portrait technique she invented, of multi interposed layers of plexiglass. Imane was invited by Mrs Graça Machel the widow of Nelson Mandela and Samora machel to celebrate the memory of her first husband, at Gallery 1834 where the portrait of Samora Machel done by Imane was exposed along with other Mozambican artists. The work of Imane Kamal Idrissi has been the subject of several individual and group exhibitions in Mozambique and South Africa . these are few links from the local press about her art work: -"Perspective" at BCI Bank Head Quarter Gallery .
