ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The planet we live on: written with a capital letter, if intended as an astronomical entity (the third planet in order of distance from the Sun around which it rotates at an average distance of 150 million km, with a mass of 5,974 1,024 kg and a single satellite, the Moon); written with a lowercase letter, if understood as a characteristic area of human and natural events: the surface, the face of the T.; The day went away, and the brown air took away the animates who are on earth From their labors (Dante); with reference to the sphere of human and natural events, often identified with men themselves (Thus percossa, astonished La terra al nunzio sta, Manzoni) and often opposed to heaven, as a popular residue of the ancient Ptolemaic conception, which placed the Earth at the center of the universe while the sky was the rotating system around it, to which the biblical component is added (In the beginning God created the sky and the earth, opening words of Genesis, first book of the Bible; the relics of the earth and heaven disguises time, Foscolo; fam.: it runs as far as from heaven to t., of enormously distant or irreconcilable things; stay neither in heaven nor in t., see stand), or the Christian conception that 'heaven' is the kingdom of God and the blessed, as opposed to the earthly seat of men (your will be done, as in heaven so in t.), considered, with regard to human life, only as provisional and contingent (we are exiles, pilgrims on this t. ); outside the religious sphere, the contrast can be between transitory values and pure ideality.

Olga Polichcthouk was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. I moved to Italy in 1991 and gave my first exhibition in the heart of Milan, at 5, Via della Signora. I worked with Delta 2 architecture Studio for many years, making paintings for Samarani restaurant and the Milan Fair ''...As far as my artistic viewpoint is concerned, I believe I am coherent in my desire to carry on the Russian pictorial tradition, which roots go back to ancient Russia, to the spirituality of Icons and, indeed, to Russian Avant-Garde of the beginning of the 20th Century. My desire is to be a national reference point within a multicultural mosaic... I wish to create an alternative world populated by fantastic objects and by characters which represent the celestial hierarchy: the wise birds of heaven or strangely attuned angels - all this is an outlet for the imagination. Actually there is an answer or more than answer to every riddle. I often write nursery rhymes or poetry on my canvases. In my work I try to bring out the reality of things. My pictures may be understood without reference to positioning. Colors are like pieces of the rainbow to compose a whole or break up this whole, unleashing a storm of colors and then return to a state calm, silence, harmony. The picture begins to live out its own life, being energized by me however. I attempt to be a good creator - I paint my characters and nature with loving care. Even Gorgon Medusa should appear, she will be good and kind-hearted in my work.''
