Born in 1976, Desmond Leung ( 梁 樂 森 ) is a visual artist interested in fine art and new media. He is devoted to pushing the boundaries of contemporary aesthetics by merging paintings, ink art, moving images and new media into a time-based art form.  Desmond's work has been exhibited in art shows in the U.S, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Australia, Poland, Korea and Singapore. The various international art exhibitions and film festivals where his work has been shown includes the CHANEL Digital Art Program 2012 (worldwide), The Hong Kong International Art Fair, Asian Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair, Eastpak Artist Studio Exhibition, October Contemporary (Hong Kong), Resfest (Australian for the Moving Image, Melbourne, Australia), Get It Louder (China) and more. Desmond was also commissioned by the Korean gallery LVS to create video artwork for the Media Pole Exhibition in Seoul, Korea during May 1 to July 31, 2012. Desmond's new research is inspired by metaphysics, nature, the universe, the human body, spirituality and oriental philosophy. His style links "shan shui," with lyrical abstractions under a new-media approach. Desmond's art is also inspired by the contemporary Chinese painter Wu GuanZhong, Zao Wou Ki, British Romantic landscape painter J. M. W. Turner, Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, and all the abstract expressionists and composers from The New York School.
