#628, untitled, 2023 is a piece from the very new series 'hybrids', which the artists developed from their six previous work series mixing them all up. At the end of 2022, the first motif of the 'hybrids' series was created. Their emphatically playful attempt led surprisingly, though not illogically to a conclusive pictorial solution. It became apparent that there were diverse possibilities for pasting creative approaches from the past 20 years in a new context and thus arriving at highly reduced and yet typical works. This piece combines a black pane as seen with the 'rooms' series with an architectural detail 'cut out' of its environment by a blue mask, typical for O+K's 'architectures'. It is a piece at an unusual price enabled by a unusual high edition. All of O+K's photographs are left in one piece, never cut apart nor collaged with other photos. Walls, edges, corners, ceiling and so forth stay at the places, where they are found in the basic RAW file. Just an artificially added mask and pane (here blue and black) makes the difference. A special little catalog explaining all the OSTER+KOEZLE series is available. #628 is a pigment print on high-matte museum cardboard of 300 g/sqm, printed by the artists themselves.

SG Koezle and Willy Oster, a photographer and a painter, form the artist duo OSTER+KOEZLE since 1999. Since then their works are always about the topics of space and thus architecture, manifested in seven work series, all of which continue to this day. Their works are characterized by digitally altered photographs of rooms and achitectural elements, that make it nearly impossible to match the seen with the known and the viewer's experience.
