Sometimes I start an artwork and I don't know what it's about. Sometimes, it's not until I have completed the artwork that I start to understand what I have created and its significance, however; maybe my subconscious mind is aware of its subject matter and its relevance working through my creative process. This is how it felt when I created "Apollo I ". In an ancient Greek myth it is said that Leto, Apollo's mother, gave birth to him after nine days in a scared lake on the island of Delos which is situated next to the Greek Island of Mykonos. In my youth I lived in Mykonos for four years and made many trips to this incredible World Heritage site. I was also painted as the Greek God Apollo and these experiences triggered my interest in Greek Mythology and the ancient civilisation of Greece. Apollo lived on Mount Parnassus, accompanied by the Nine Muses, goddesses of poetic inspiration and the creative arts. Apollo is the Greek God of the sunlight, music, art, healing, poetry and prophecy so I guess that's what " Apollo I" is all about. This limited edition Giclee print is number 2 of 7 and is signed and numbered on the back unless otherwise requested. The artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity and has a white, 3 inch boarder. The image printed area is 34.2 x40 inches. The total print size including boarder is 40.2 x 46 inches. The image is printed on Hahnemuhle fine art paper. I recommend using non- reflective, uv protective glass when framing prints to protect them. This artwork is sold unframed
