Tara Fracalossi was born in Jersey City NJ and grew up on the Jersey Shore. She holds an MFA from the University at Albany, a BA in studio art from University of Vermont and attended Syracuse University in Florence Italy. Her work has been exhibited at Spring Break Art Fair, NY; Smack Mellon, Brooklyn; The Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY; the Center for Book Arts, NY; Masters&Pelavin, NY; the Cyprian Majernik Gallery, in Bratislava, Slovakia; Kingsgate Gallery, London; the Kunsthalle Exnergasse, WUK, Vienna, Austria; Fotofest, Houston, Tx; the Hyde Collection Museum, Glens Falls, NY; Saratoga Arts, Saratoga, NY and the Storefront Artists’ Project, Pittsfield, Ma. Fracalossi has received two Photographer’s Fund Fellowships from the Center for Photography at Woodstock and several Special Opportunity Stipend grants from the New York Foundation for the Arts. She is the founding Director of the Teaching Gallery at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY where she is Assistant Professor of Fine Arts.
