ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece started out as a fine-tipped pen drawing. It develop into what I call a "beehive" style hairdo and it reminded me of an exaggerated version of how my mother used to get her hair done in the 60's. As a juxtaposition, I thought it would be cool to combine this drawing with the face of someone who I feel is a strong and "take no shit" woman I met while out on tour as a music photographer for the band HEART. She's not one to flip anyone off, but she has strong morals and a straight forward, honest and cool human. I had taken various behind the scenes photos of many of my road-mates and this one was a perfect match for this hairdo. She sometimes wore her hair up like this so I knew her face would look amazing. Sometimes this is how we feel about things.... so express it.:)

During the recent summers (pre-COVID) she’s been traveling with Ann Wilson of Heart and the band HEART Love Alive Reunion Tour 2019 (w/artists Ann & Nancy Wilson, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, Elle King, etc.) as tour photographer.
