Blackfriar's Bridge, St Paul's and The City, Dusk Photograph - Limited Edition of 100

A panoramic view over the River Thames with some of London's most iconic buildings. This is an extremely detailed image of very high resolution, created as a digital composite. This image was shot with the clear air of a cool October evening. I had planned it for some time, having set up my tripod and Hasselblad camera on a terrace high up across the river, and was ready just at the magical moment when the evanescent blue light the sky is perfectly in balance with the warm yellow glow of the street lights and the illuminations of the buildings, with the additional purple and red tones of Blackfriars Bridge. The orange globe of the full moon rising on cue at precisely the right moment gives that extra magic to the scene. This is one of my favourite views of London, it has an interesting mix of historical and contemporary buildings, and the geometry of the composition with the majestic dome of St Paul’s cathedral acting as a central fulcrum is in perfect harmony.
