About The Artwork

Trying and failing are integral parts of the human experience, woven into the very fabric of our nature. The drive to try, to push the boundaries of what is possible, to strive for something greater is a universal constant. It is this unrelenting pursuit of growth and improvement that has driven the human race forward, leading to countless discoveries and innovations. Yet, along with this drive to succeed comes the inevitability of failure. The fear of failing can hold us back, but it is through the act of trying and failing that we learn, grow and eventually succeed. Each failure is an opportunity for reflection, for self-discovery and for improvement. In this sense, trying and failing are not opposites, but rather two sides of the same coin, connected by the common thread of the human experience. There must be lights burning brighter somewhere Elvis wrote a song about it - if I can dream. I styled, photographed and edited it. The pop art frame is made out of first-class quality glossy acrylic glass to create a special radiance. Modern lightness with a shadow gap: due to a 4 mm wide distance to the frame, the motif appears to be floating.

In my artistic photographic work I deal with the subject of food and its influence on society. Two things have led me to devote myself to this subject: the visual aesthetics of food in all its forms and the complex issue of nutrition in society. In my work "there must be lights burining brigther" the eternal trying and then failing again was my theme. An example: you shouldn't eat at 6pm and yet you do. You drink healthy smoothies and still chain smoke. Seafood is bad, but you stuff yourself with a sushi platter from the discount store anyway. In my new work Room Service, I'm looking at comfort food and what happens to us when we order food from room service. What transformation we and the food experience. A croissant becomes a tea bag, at a pizza party we are suddenly different personalities. Behind a temporarily luxuriously closed door we can afford anything. My compositions are stylistically oriented towards the 70s and 80s. Design and fashion play as important a role in my paintings as food itself. I love to push boundaries and defy conventions. My work always has a twinkle in my eye. In addition to this subject matter, I also like to put flower crowns on farm animals. For me, this is a nice relaxation besides my work and I enjoy being with animals. I was born in Geneva in 1982 and have a master's degree in business administration. I am self-taught in photography and high-quality image retouching. Tina is represented by Visualeyes Artists and is a member of the Art Directors Club (ADC) Switzerland.
